Mortgage advice in Scotland

Hi there,

Anyone got any information as to the best place to go to for a mortgage in Scotland? Also how much deposit is required for us to save, has anyone got any ideas?

The mortgages available here are just the same as the ones elsewhere in the UK. You'll need at least a 10% deposit but the rates are relatively high - 15% or 25% is better. If you're buying a newbuild you might need more than 10% as the minimum.

Best bet is to go to see a mortgage adviser, or have a look at some of the mortgage deals available by looking at a comparison site. Think about whether you want a fix or tracker, and what term you want the deal to be over.

If you post salary, deposit, value of property and what kind of deal you want someone might be able to be a bit mroe specific.

Hiya,

I have been using First Mortgage who I highly recommend.They are free whole of market brokers. We have a 40% deposit but I think it depends on what you want to buy etc.
