Been running for far to long, time to take responsibility

Hi, first of all please dont judge me, (maybe alot to ask) I have been extremely foolish and dam right stupid, and im ashamed of the mess i have got myself into.

Back in 2000 i started my own business, which didnt work out, and ended up with some debt, council for rent, rates, and people who i bought stock from. Proberly about £2000 all in.

I then went to college but along came the student credit card, which i was paying off fine, until i fell pregnant and gave up college and didnt work.

Had my son, had abit of depression (not using this as an excuse). I did apply for afew CC's and blew the money on crap. Suppose it was my way of trying to feel better, spend the money. The feel good factor lasted for the few hours then wore off. Still i was making the payments at this point, though it was hard with not working. It was only afew months after this that i stopped making any payments and have been ignoring it ever since

I now have had another baby, and im not working at the min, but i really need to do something. Im not proud to say that i dont have sleepless nights anymore. Ive past that stage. The creditors have stopped calling and stopped sending letters out, so not sure what the next stage is.

Yes i have been stupid, yes i feel i have let my partner and children down, but more so ive let myself down and im not proud of it. I want to be debt free, just dont know how.

Is bankruptcy the only answer?

Your first port of call should be the Citizens advise or consummer credit I think the links are above.

They can advise how best to go, don't worry thye have heard this many times and don't judge just help.

Many on here will advise were we can, but if you do choose bankruptcy you will need to have taken advice.

    Hi

You are not alone as none of us have been proud of our debts or the resulting bc.It is hard facing the truth and we have all done silly things where money is concerned. So stop beating yourself up.

You need to either ring one of the debt charites(numbers in my sig)or make an appointment with your local cab.The will go over everything with you and tell you the best way to go. The are very very busy so do not give up if you get no answer the first few times.

Any other questions just ask and we will do our best to answer them.Dx
