Advice needed pleeeeeeeeeease

Hi all,

The many threads on here have inspired me soooo much over the last few months that I have started a small business making various things including gift baskets, nappy cakes and chocolate bouquets. I already have a couple of orders so I'm very, very happy!!

I have now booked a stall at a local craft fair and I wandered if those of you who have done similar have any advice that could help me??

All suggestions are very welcome!:D
 Thanks to everybody in the crafting threads who inspired me to start my own business!!

I've done 3 now and each one was so different!!! I think the secret is not too make too much to display as this can cost a lot and you may not sell them. I took a lot of orders on the day.
You need to be able to show people different sizes and colours but you dont need 2 of everything.
Take plenty of business cards or brochures and have a banner made advertising yourself.
Sorry I can't think of anything else at mo x

Thanks Shelley, do you take a deposit on the day or the full amount?? Does anyone ever mind paying in full and not taking the product away?

Sorry I should have mentioned that. I took a £5 deposit and people were happy with this. Some people did ask though if I wanted full payment and were prepared to pay in full for an order. I prefered to take a deposit though.
Some items on display I allowed to be taken on the day but others had to be ordered.

If I was a customer I'd like some smaller items that I could take away with me on the day (as I don't have a car) as well as a brochure with some good photos.

I will have some small easter baskets that will be available to take away on the day aswell as the mothers day baskets but the nappy cakes will definitely be made to order. I am having some glossy leaflets printed over the next few days, hopefully this will be enough:o

Good luck to you :T I'm hoping to do a couple of fairs in the run up to Xmas with gift type items in order to make a bit of extra £ for the festive season :D
