    Try Horders.

    We've had them out for a tumble drier at work, someone recommended them and said they wouldn't try and sell you a new one if the old one was repairable.

    also check the In My Home thread, if you haven't already, there are some tips there which may help with common problems.

    I know a very good washing machine repair man, I've PM'ed you his name and mobile number.

    Edited: he's a one person engineer, not a big company, so is very good and not expensive.

    I've used Avon Domestics on Red Lion Hill. They have a shop front and do repairs etc in a workshop at the back.
