Bank Bonuses - an idea

Well, we all saw that bloke from the Bank saying " Sorry, we made a bad decision and lost 10bn"

Now they want bonuses too...hmmm

Ive made a few bad decisions in my time, one of them was following my Banks advice which landed me in debt. They then turned their back on me, thanks HSBC.

So... why don't the banks use these Millions of pounds of bonuses to cancel out some of their customers debt?

I'd love the bank to simply wipe out my debt or give me a handout...doubt that will happen though.

I'm no financial analyst but if they used the bonus money to reduce peoples ( or wipe out ) personal debt then we'd have more money to spend in the economy. Would also go some way to restoring a little faith back in the banking system.

After all, it was the banks who created this credit bubble that has now burst!

Why should the banks give you or anyone who has got themselves into debt money? If you ask me that isnt a very good way for a company to make money. The banks that still exist without government aid are doing so coz they have a profitable business and what you have suggested isnt a very profitable business model - in fact its nearly as bad as northern crocks. Do you believe that every penny a bank makes should be shared equally amongst everyone in the world?

    sounds like a great idea.

i assume you will be giving your entire salary to the next homeless person you meet, on the grounds that it would be a nice thing to do.

Rather than 'giving' the money.. they should take their bonus fund and channel into money for business loans - since that's one of the key problems at the moment
