You can now receive the latest updates on changes and disruptions to your regular journey by registering for travel alerts.

Travel alerts, one of the Travel Tools available on TFL's website, allow you to receive alerts for Tube or Docklands Light Railway journeys by text message. They can also be personalised to suit the days and times that you travel.

    How much does it cost to receive travel alerts?

    TfL doesn't charge you for providing the Service. Mobile operators charge TfL for every SMS message that is sent, and we cover the cost.
    However your mobile operator may charge you for receiving travel alerts, for example if you take your phone overseas, or for some 'pay as you go' tariffs. If you are unsure how much you may be paying to receive SMS messages from TfL, please ask your network provider.

  • A good tool I suppose but as you’ve pointed out it’s always best to check with your provider before deciding to use.

    It’s seems that this is a bit misleading of TFL from what you are saying as they say this is free to use. They ought to put more info on the registration page.

    they sent me 1 last sat but it wasnt even on the route id picked! it said there were problems between morden n stockwell, when i was going north of LBG!
