If we get an IPA - what happens if I fall pregnant and then our joint incomes go down - can you contact the OR say 5 or 6 months later and update them - would the IPA then be reduced/removed?
Thanks

or then if i had been allowed to keep the car after the inital OR interview as need it for work, would it then be taken away as was pregant and no longer needing it for work? would still need it for work after pregnancy??0

Once you car is exempt then they cant un-exempt it.
If you have a IPA it is open for it renewal if your circumstances change. Make sure you let the OR know within 21 days of any change.0 -
If your income goes down your IPA can be adjusted, or suspended until your situation improves. All the months that it is suspended count towards the 36 months max. So for example, you paid an IPA for 6 months then went on mat leave for 12 months you will have 'served' 18 months of your IPA even though you have only made 6 payments, once you finish mat leave you re-submit your SoA and if you still have a surplus, taking into account your outgoings will have gone up and you might be working less hours, you will make the remaining 18 payments. If you no longer have a surplus you won't have to make anymore payments.
Once your car is exempt, that's it, they can't take it back, it's yours to do with as you wish, even sell if you wanted.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I cant answer on the pregnancy as i dont know but i was told by my OR and they said if they show no interest in the vehicle and let you know in writing thats it they have finished looking at it.
I had a van when i went BR but as i needed it for work they let me keep it. I then lost my job so i let them know and asked about the van and was told that they had made the decision and i could do what i wanted with the van which was a massive relief.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

right ok - so if we get an IPA even if fall pregnant in the 1st year and are not paying it when discharged you are stuck with it for the rest of the 36 months (if and when you have enough excess) - as you had it to start with?
good news about the car - just need to keep it now!0 -
