having a life while on a DMP

Financial situation:

CC1 = £1309.67 paying £10.05 over min payment
CC2 = £624.56
CC3 = £1687.50
CC4 = £1287.34 paying £8 over min payment adding interest
CC5 = £423.97 paying £2 over min payment
OD1 = £205 adding interest
Loan1 = £3070.86 paying £20 under min payment adding interest
DCA1 = £623.82
DCA2 = £200.76
OD2 = £244 paying nothing adding interest £20 & £2

I will be contacting both DCAs to find out true balance.
Loan company is debiting account by £55-57 each month & mentioned loan protection in statement, that was cancelled or so I thought should I find out about this?
Am I paying CC4 as if I weren't in a DMP?
OD1 is charging me, funny these 3 are all with the same company. Not sure about min payments for CC2+3
OD2 I have to phone up to see if I can arrange anything.

OD1+2 & DCA2 I plan on paying off asap.

I am not going to stop having a life, DFD is April 2011 at current rate but aim to bring that forward.

SOA:

Income = 1176

Outgoings
Rent = 346.66
Debt = 350
Mum = 30
Travel = 53
Food = 50-80
Mobile = 35
Internet/phone = 20
Web = 20
uni = 50
hobbies = 55
hair = 10
clothes = 10
other = 50*
TOTAL = 1079.66 / 1109.66

INCOME - OUTGOINGS = 96.34 / 66.34

* used to pay of creditors

Life:

I go ice skating twice a week & dancing once a week thats why my hobbies are high. I would much rather do this than using this money to reduce my DFD by only a few months. I also run web sites so pay for a host.

Need to find a second job fast!!!! and hope to be keeping the one I have now :angry:

  • I've got a better life since being on my dmp - don't have to worry about how I'm going to be able to afford basic things in life. That said, I did have to make sacrifices, like giving up a hobby and taking on a second job. But it's been worth it to have money in the bank before pay day even if it is just a fiver! You may have to consider giving up your hobbies for a few months - it is hard but then you can put some money aside to make some headway into your debts.

    well I have a disciplinary meeting at work next thursday oh what fun!!!!!!!!!

    This job is a joke, not once in all the meeting and the 4 years I've been there have they said anything about my email communication and now they decide that I'm doing it wrong, they haven't brought it up before so why now? this I'm questioning next they will be complaining that I get off my chair too much!!!!!!!!

    This will be the 3rd HR meeting, I just want out of here but hey I can't find another job :(

    so plans from next pay 20st March

    Transfer each month from now on:

    £50 to savings 1 for tuition
    £20 to savings 2 for skating
    £50 to savings 2 for dancing

    The skating and dancing are only term time and I won't be starting the dancing till September. I will have 2 classes a week for 10 weeks total £126 which works out at £50.40, the money I transfer from March - June I will use to pay off a creditor.
    My skating is every 6 weeks and works out at £20 a month will not need this money June - August so will go towards my debt.

    Uni I have 2 more payments left then I should get finance for my courses starting October I need £800 by July 2010 for 2 residential school and the rest will go on my debts.

    I also skate on Sundays but that is usually free

    You need to contact ACAS and get advice on your legal rights before you go to the meeting. There are prescribed rules about what they can discipline you for and your rights to remedy the situation. You need to know these.

    Also check you HR department and work e-mails for a copy of the company policy on personal computer use, when these were set up and when and how you were inform of these.

    It may be a pain but holding onto your job may be a good idea at the mo.

    The still having a life thing bothers me! I don't feel like I can! I go tap dancing once a week (and football but that's free, coz work pay) and that's it at the mo. It's only £5 and only in term time. But my sister-in-law is moving back my way and to a much higher paid job than she's currently in and wants to start lots of things!

    She wants to come to tap with me which is fine, but she also wants to go to yoga (I do too but have put it off due to money) and maybe another dancing class! She even said she'd sub me but i don't want to be subbed! that's not the point at all!

    I do tend to keep this £5 out of my spending money (£30 a week) but i shouldn't really! and i feel my budget it very tight and like i have to say no to things a lot more than i want to and a lot more than i used to (ok this was probably part of the reason i'm where i am now but shhh!)! It sucks quite frankly! Bring on dfd!!!!!!

    how did the disciplinary go?

    I feel as long as you are paying you debts off then it's fine. I mean if it mean I wouldn't be able to keep up my debt payments then I'd stop. I neveer get invited to things or rarely do.
