Split from partner, looking for transfer of deeds

Split up recently, jointly own mortgaged property and looking to have her name removed from mortgage. Halifax are happy to do this but will charge £160.00 fee before any solicitors fee's. Starting to sound expensive....
Can anyone tell me what I would need solicitors to do for me and rough cost/time of this (to remove her completely and add my dad to keep mortgage company happy:-)
Things are very amicable at moment so want to sort this all out asap before things change!

Solicitors costs will be approx £400-£500 and process will take around 6 weeks. Process usually goes something like this but not necessarily in this order:
Solicitor requests title deeds from lender.
Your ex will sign legal forms agreeing to the transfer. This form will be forwarded to your lender who if they agree to the transfer will release your ex from all mortgage liabilities.
Searches are carried out against the property.
If searches come back clear your solicitor will submit more Land Registry forms containing new ownership details which will be held on their proprietory register.
Hope this helps0 -
