Paid twice for the same debt

If you find out that a creditor has been paid twice for the same debt and the creditor does not disclose this information to you then is this classed as fraud, dishonesty, or theft?
The amount involved is £8,500.00.
The debt was a Bankruptcy debt. The trustee paid the creditor in Bankruptcy from what he received in the Bankrupt's assets, and the creditor was paid again by the Bankrupt's solicitors who arranged the remortgage . The remortgage was solely done to pay off the Official Receiver and costs incurred in Bankruptcy proceedings.
I have found out that the creditor in bankruptcy has been paid twice, once by the trustee and then by solicitors who were dealing with remortgage.
Please could someone advise what action can be taken against this creditor please?

Can't really advise but you may be able to ask either nationaldebtline or citizens advice.
It may also be worth posting this up on the consumeractiongroup forum under legal issues (can't think of what else it may come under). Hopefully somene from there will be able to advise what to do.After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
