Nationwide Laugh or Cry

I posted a thread for advice last week regarding my nationwide loan and their decision to issue me with a default notice even thou I was making regular reduced payments for over 14 months which they agreed to

I wrote to them regrading unfair charges

I recieved a reply today from then stating they were going to accept my reduced payments again but for only 1 month from Feb 09 to Mar 09 !

I noticed at the bottom of the letter that they have an email address for payment difficulties

Underneath this is states

" Nationwide is always sympathetic and positive if you are in difficulty "

I dont know whether to roll around in laughter or cry in desperation .

I wonder how much bonus some bright spark got for making that up .

Anyway , thanks to all those who replied with advice and im still fighting them on their charges :rotfl: icon9.gif

I had a similar thing with Lloyds - their website states ""If you are having financial difficulties, we are here to help".

Thing is, they weren't there! I request a breakdown of my loan payments back in Jan 2007 and after more than a year of letters back and forth and them saying I didn't communicate with them (huh????) eventually handed it all over to the Ombudsman and complained about LTSB's inability to correspond properly. He has sorted it out and I have got my charges reimbursed.
