DVD Price Crash at Borders (instore only)

So I just found out today that Borders (This is instore only) is massively reducing almost all of it's DVD's, I saw some guys restickering the department today so you may find bargains that aren't yet stickered but appear to be live on the tills.

there are some good deals in the standard films like:

Dark Knight 2 disc for £5.99 - (cheapest I can find online 11.98)
Wall-E 2 disc for £7.99 - (cheapest I can find online 12.99)

but the real bargains are in the boxsets!

Sopranos complete DELUXE edition £50 - cheapest online £90
Curb your enthusiasm s1-5 £25 - cheapest online £60
The Mighty Boosh - Series 1 - 3 £10 - cheapest online £24

And that is just to name a few, if it isn't cheap yet in your store, ask them at a till how much it really is, there is a bargain to be had on just about everything!

(internet prices checked on findDVD www.find-dvd.co.uk)

Enjoy!

  • Thanks for the tip, I might get The Dark Knight if my local Borders has it! Do you happen to know if Bones series 3, Monk series 6 or Psych are reduced? They're probably my absolute favourite programmes and I've been looking for good prices on them for months:T
  • I would say they almost certainly are if they have them in stock, it seems like they are reducing the entire range. But I think it may be a whilst stocks last on these boxsets as they must be selling these at a loss.

    Thanks so much for this!

I got The Sopranos (£49.99), The Mighty Boosh Special Edition 3 Series set (£9.99) and The Dark Knight (£5.99) from Borders in Cheshire Oaks. Most impressed!
  • you're most welcome :)
  • Thanks, went today and there was still bargains to be had, hubby came away with quite a few CSI boxsets @ £9.99 each.

If you are going in the next couple of days, check the leaflets near the till before paying.
We found two useful ones -
    1) approx A6 size, red and white - SAVE £5 when you spend £25 or more in store between Thursday 26th Feb and Sunday 1st March
We used these against the discounted dvds no problem at all.
    2) smaller than A6, 3 part voucher sheet.
The top one is - A treat for you this month SAVE £5 when you spend £25 or more Valid 15/02/09 - 28/02/09 (didn't try to use this one)
The other two are 20% off any full priced book Valid 16/3/09 - 22/03/09 and Save £5 when you spend £25 or more Valid 06/04/09 - 15/04/09
  • Who are Borders?
Thanks to all who post constructively.

I would have loved Wall-E but we don''t have a Borders near us.... It's really annoying no Home Bargains, TK Max, TJ Hughes or Primark .

I've seen Wall-E for £7.99 in Sainsbury's if that is any help? Also had Kung Fu Panda for £5.
  • I rang my local branch the other day after reading this and asked if they had the sopranos deluxe boxset in stock for £50, they said they did. I couldn't get to the store until today so I asked if they would mind putting it aside for me, which they kindly did and I went and collected it in store today. Thank you very much have been waiting to get for this price for ages so well pleased! (I was told that they will reserve things for customers for up to three days, and was surprised this applied to sale items aswell).
