Limit to capital repayments when on SVR?

Am I right in thinking that most lenders impose no limit to the amount of capital repayment you can make when in an interest only/SVR situation?

I am considering simply staying on Accord's SVR when I come to the end of my 3 yr fixed rate with them. On the current product a maximum of 10% capital repayment/calendar year is allowed and I would like to exceed this in future.

Be gobsmacked if there was a limit, the limit only exists in the deal time, once you have no redemption, you can pay what you like.
  • You can repay as much as you like when on SVR

The key date to look for is when your tie-in finishes. Some mortgages have extended tie-ins that continue after the fixed rate has finished. You should have a date somewhere that tells you when your tie-in finishes and after that you can won't be subject to any early repayment fees.
