Ipod Nano 1GB

Apple have launched the new 1GB Nano
It retails at £109 although only few places are selling so far
Anyone come across these any cheaper elsewhere or know somewhere that sells them that might have discounts ?

Apple do an education discount (appox 8%) if you qualify. You can pick them cheaper off Ebay, just be very wary about who you buy from. Buying in the States is cheaper but buying from the States may incur customs charges.

Just a thought, if you want a 1GB player, the ipod nano is overpriced, IMHO. You'd be better off getting others, there are some 3GB players on the grabbit board for £80. There was a 20GB Archos on here for £149.
  • There are better 1gb players on the market than the Ipod - if its just a fashion statement then the Ipod is fine. However, for quality, value and functions - radio, not restricted by Itunes, can play different formats - the Creative Zen Nano at £75 from Amazon is the better of the two.

I have just bought a 20gb Photo Ipod from an ebay trader (100% fb) for under £140. It's a B+ grade (ex-display), but complete and boxed. There is also an Irish company that advertises refurb Creative Zen 6gb mp3 players for £99.99.
Both have comments in their feedback that the goods look brand new!
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

Ipods can play mp3 and aac (btw) and you can use other programmes instead of itunes to control your ipod.

Most mp3 players also have their own software and proprietory formats so apple aren't the only ones. (eg Sony with the Atrac and their crap software)

The higher end ones are the best value of money per GB. 60GB for £299. I can't find anything cheaper(?)
