  • I read somewhere think it might be in one of the numerous wedding planning books i have on loan from the library that if you have a red bridal bouquet you will have nothing but bad luck and a disatrous marriage - really nice reading that in a wedding book

I'm alright it seems....thank goodness nothing rhymes with Burgundy :rotfl: :rotfl: .

Your 50's style dress sounds absolutely stunning, good luck with everything, you'll look amazing which ever you decide. I'd go with the red if it's your first choice. xx

haha, not exactly what you want to hear when reading that!

Thanks again everyone, you're definitely helping to persuade me on sticking with the red, not matter what anybody else may say.. after all, it was my first choice, and what I want :)

:D Finally decided to start growing up when it comes to money!:j
  • in asian countries, its best to get married in red - bring you loads of auspicious luck and prosperity. :)

and its bad luck to wear white.... depends on what you yourself believe, really.

    :)
  • it's not bad luck to wear red, but it is bad judgement to be superstitious. Wear what you want and be in charge of your own destiny.
Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.

My mate is getting married in red, and she is being careful of the colour of her flowers (not yet decided upon) and her mum reminded her to be wary of blood and bandages which I think refers to having a red dress and white flowers:rolleyes:

Anyway I am sure you will be stunning as will my mate.

ooh i'm glad this thread has been brought about as i myself wanted a red train on my dress and i was wondering the same question. I'm not superstitious but its a niggling feeling, especially when i know my nan may mention it.
At the end of the day though if its what you want its what you have and your marriage is only as good as you make it :D
  • Wear what you like, all these brides didn't seem to think wearing red was bad luck.

I can't stand all the wedding superstition nonsense.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
