Can someone help me please. The internet 'history' keeps getting deleted. I've check the tools, Internet options etc and it says to keep history for 20 days, so, I'm not sure why it keeps deleting  When I log on to the PC I have to start everything again! And have lost addresses for some fab sites I have visited over the past few days too icon9.gif
As post 11 said, you should be saving the addresses of your favourite web sites as, err, Favourites, and not relying on the History of pages you've visited. In IE, Favourites - Add to Favourites.

As for the problem of history being deleted, see if this page helps.

Are you sure no else is using computer without your knowledge? If there is a possibility that there is, then maybe they are deleting the history and cookies manually to conceal certain web pages they are looking at.....
  • Hi ya,

If others use your PC, probably I will create a separate Windows login for them. If you decide to go down this route, please do not give them admin rights.

    Best wishes,

It sound like you have an automatic cache cleaner running. Many programs have this facility built in, i.e. Zone Alarm in it's Privacy section.

Check all of the programs that are running when you first boot-up without running anything else to see if one of these is clearing your history etc. or list them here so others can advise you.

  • Hi Ally,

If you decide to create a new login for your daughter, then I would strongly suggest you to install some kind of internet filter program.

Such an application would protect children from inappropriate online contents. In the past I have used Naomi (free but great!).

    Product review available here.

    Cheers
