Parter going bankrupt - how will it affect me?

Hi,

My partner is in £40k worth of debt and is considering bakruptcy as he is unable to meet payments and his daily needs. We split up for a time and he moved out but a new pregnancy has meant we are trying to sort things out. I own a house with my brother and the possessions within it were bought by me - so my question is - will his creditors try to claim things from me and say he has an interest in the property. I have always paid the mortgage, although he lived here for 4 years before moving out.

Unless they can prove he has an interest in the property, for example, if he paid towards the mortgage, they don't have a leg to stand on. They can't touch anything that is yours solely, money or otherwise.
