Best rates are on the internet (one of them paying 3.9%
http://www.icicibank.co.uk/)
but compare here, there is some based in NI;

If you just look at local banks, you'll do yourself no favours. Any savings account with a UK insitution is available in NI except for small building societies which offer accounts only through their branches.
I'd be wary of Moneysupermarket.com as it tends to promote accounts which pay commission.
Moneyfacts (http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/) is far more independent.
If you haven't got an ISA and can hang on for a couple of weeks, you will probably find more attractive offers as banks tend to compete harder for ISA money at the turn of the financial year.0 -
Thanks guys.
I'm applying for the ICICI account as its a fixed rate, however I don't want to put too much into it as it doesn't allow with drawls and the bank is deemed unstable.
What are the highest fixed rate accounts that allow withdrawls, even if notice has to be given.
Thanks again.0 -
Depending on the rate you get in your fixed rate account, you could then consider drip feeding the Barclays monthly saver account as rates are quite good - see last weeks e-mail. They have branches in NI if that's important to you. Think the rate's still 6%.
(Only after you've filled your ISA though, assuming rates get a bit better. The ISA season has started already and think there's an isa account mentioned in this weeks e-mail)0 -
I think these drip feeding accounts are a bit of a con. Very restrictive and and for very small amounts. In my opinion not worth the effort0
