No Birthday Candles allowed on birthday cake

I have booked a party for my Sons 4th Birthday and have been told by the venue (sports hall) that they do not allow candles to be lit on a cake. (for safety reasons)
My son is always so excited about other peoples cakes and when will it be his turn to blow them out and now I can't do it! Has anyone any ideas on getting artifical battery powered candles or any other ideas I can use?
Please help! Thank you

Poor wee pet! Thats horrible not blowing candles out.
Is there going to be someone from the venue there while the party is going on? I would suggest putting the candles on discreetly just before hand then removing and placing them in a pocket after they have been blown out.
Failing that give him a hand full of glitter and tell him that his wish could come true if he holds the fairy dust tight, wishes and then and blows it away so the fairys know.:j Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus :j0 -
Thats a good idea. i'm quite sure there will be someone there as the party is an organised event, I was thinking of just getting 1 of those number candles so it wouldn't be too many to blow out, but I'll have to see on the day. Thanks for glitter idea, but he is having lots of boys to the party and is very much into Power Rangers and boyish things so will think about it. Thanks!0

what about cake sparklers- not strictly candles so you may be able to get around the rules0

Not a great idea for winter, but how about taking them outside for the candle blowing? or asking the venue if there is somewhere they wouldn't mind you having candles.
Its sad but someone has been told the rules and will get a telling off if they're found breaking them! Probably something to do with smoke detectors though!!
What about having the cake at your home before the venue? or after?
Good luckIt's all under control!:beer:0 -

Thanks for all your help. After explaining to my son that we would be having the cake at home after the party he was most upset and so I have decided to book a new venue where we can have candles on the cake! I know it sounds silly but to a 4 year old thats one of the most exiting things! Thanks for your help though.0
