National - tyres bogof

Seem like good deals.

You need to add £20 for fitting, valves, balancing and disposal.

I have been quoted £66 for 2 Barum tyres and £74 for 2 Avon tyres fully fitted for my Astra.

Apologies if this has already been posted.

  • They've closed down the centre in my city :( I have to travel 20 miles to take advantage of this. Probably still worth it though... thanks  :D
    spacey :)
  • I looked at these offers and found the fitting and balancing really bumped the price up, i got better deals from local independant tyre places.
  • £20 for the balancing and valves etc are a rip off and thats where they are making their money from.
    Be careful!
  • I know it's a lot, but it is still a quite good deal with the bogof. The quotes I got included everything. I will still check with my local garage beforehand though - they are often cheaper.
  • Just phoned National for a quote on a Dunlop tyre and was told it wasn`t in the promotion and would be £161.00. My local garage has exactly the same tyre for £105.00. Amazing !!!!!!

 Just phoned for two new Avon tyres. Was told that it was going to be £110 for both. When I asked how much each one was the chap said £70 for one and half price for the other. I asked about the BOGOF offer and he said it did not apply to the tyres I wanted due to the size of the tyre!!

I'd also recommend using local independent dealers. 5 minutes on the phone yesterday using yell.com got the price down on 2 Dunlops for a big car from £101 to £63.95 each, fitted. I daren't ask the last guys if they would knock it down any more as they beat the next best quote by £12.00

They were great too. Offered to make me tea, asked if I was okay and asked me to come back in 600 miles to get them rebalanced for free. Made me feel really comfortable, especially considering that I'm a girl and all ;)

If I am allowed to mention a good guy can I recommend..

    Sutherlands Tyres in South Shields.

A few years ago he did Michelin MX for my bluebird at £30 fitted.
Recently he did Michelin Energy for my primera at £60-65 fitted.

He told me he doesnt charge for valve and balance as it costs him about 25p in total.

Also when I had a puncture i went to a well known chain and was told the tyre was US and they began quoting mega bucks for a new one. Went to Sutherlands he told me there was nothing wronmg with the tyre, fixed it for £6 and I got another 30k out of it.

Top service ans an honest guy.
