£130 seems very dear for the lab fee for a soft bite guard.
I would go back if it seems to be wearing quickly. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

Had one of these a few years ago but I lost it (used to wake up and find it on the pillow next to me. Very romantic)
Having just had a root canal plus another filling I am thinking of getting another one. My dentist (private) is good, have been going to him for nearly 8 years, but this morning he told me the approximate cost for a new guard would be about £600! Whew! He reckons I need another one and so do I - but is this price reasonable?
It would be for a hard night guard.
Would really appreciate any comments from the wonderful dentists on this forum.
Oh - dentist (and me) are in north London so London prices!
TIA
Hi, i have the same teeth grinding problem, i go through my guards really quickly so i did little research - there are companies out there who you can purchase directly from, instead of going through the dentist - i went through a website called night-guard, its a english company , i think it was around £40, it was exactly the same guard as i use to buy through my private dentist. they send out a kit for you to take your own impression. :T0 -
I paid £60 for mine (mould and guard) as a private patient. It tends to last me about 6-9 months before I chew through it, and then it's £40 for a new one as I already have the mould0
