Well thanks for the advice everybody,
I settled for beef and onion crisps and egg mayo and bacon baget washed down with Diet coke ::)
I actually felt great after that. I have even managed to get the kids clothes ready to put in the suitcase, when Baby Trav dropped a nasty bombshell in the nappy departmentand set me back again LOL :-/
Totally excited about my holiday
Lets face it a hangover on the beach is something thats easy to live with ;D ;D

A couple of years ago New Scientist magazine did a light hearted test of all the hangover cures they had heard of. Each week a group of them got drunk, drinking the same amount each time and tried them out, then compared hangovers.
Not very scientific (it was a Christmas edition) but the one they had the best results with was taking N-Acetyl Cysteine tablets. You can buy them in Holland & Barrett. I asume you are meant to take them before you go to bed rather than the next morning, but they didn't make that clear.
I tried them but my hangovers seem too random to be able to work out if they help or not. They don't do any harm anyway.0 -
Most of a hangover is caused by dehydration, the rest because of toxins in alchoholic drinks and cigarette smoke.

Take Dioralyte (the stuff you get for sickness & diarrheoa) before you go to bed and when you get up in the morning, then every hour or so afterwards.
It replaces lost salts and 'hydrates more effectively than glucose based treatments and is proven to be more that 25 times more effective at rehydration than tap water' (off their website)
Stay well away from tea or coffee - the caffeine just dehydrates you more.
Also, as already mentioned, the milk thistle is good stuff. I also take an evening primrose oil before going to bed and when I get up which is meant to have natural pain killing properties. Taking Vitamin C and B vitamins tablets help the body get rid of the toxins.
It's best to set all of these things up BEFORE you go out ready for coming in and the next morning - if you haven't done it sober, you probably won't do it once you've had a few drinks!
(can you tell I USED to have one or two drinks ::))

White spirits such as vodka & gin contain less toxins (vodka being the purest and so having least effect) so are usually better to avoid hangovers.
As for the driving, it doesn't matter how well you feel - the liver breaks down one unit of alcohol (1 unit = 1/2 pint of ordinary strength beer, 1 25ml shot of spirits etc) per hour and only works at one speed so you can't hurry that part of the process up.
So you can prevent and 'nearly' cure the effects of a hangover, but if you've been drinking heavily only time will get you back to a safe limit to drive.
Have fun partying people ;D ;D ;DI'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL
