Cancelling DFS order if delivery takes too long?

Thanks - we have measured and are hopeful it should fit - although I am nervous about it getting through the doors, there's not alot I can do about it until it arrives so am trying not to panic about it (famous last words, i panic and worry about everything!)
We have sliding patio doors out the back and then it just needs to go straight through one door so fingers crossed.
Oh god i hope its alright!
Blimey, what DO you do if it doesn't fit through the doors? We are renting, we can't start removing windows etc!?0 -
Why sofas take so long to arrive from order?
The products are manufactured in the Far-East, namely China, Taiwan etc.
They will only begin to transport your product when a 40ft shipping container of products are full, i.e if yours is the first product in the container, you will wait a little longer.
Physical shipping from China to the UK takes the best part of 5 weeks.Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity

argh typed a long reply but computer gobbled it up!
I had a similar problem, they had promised within a certain timescale, turned up a month late with a damaged settee, which i refused. I decided to cancel as they could not give me a delivery date. They tried to keep my £200 deposit as I had signed teh contract saying it was non refundable - got nowhere on the phone with them.
I went in to the store on a saturday afternoon when it was full of customers, and complained right in the middle of the shop where everybody could hear me. I was polite, not rude or aggressive, but i was loud, and the manager swiftly took me to the till to give me a full refund and cancel my order!!!0 -
Windows can be swiftly removed then replaced - sounds worse than it is. Am sure it will fit through patio door,
Relax and enjoy your new red sofa :rotfl:Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Not all major sofa manufacturers produce in the far east. There are a fair few who produce in the UK.0 -

Just to say we have two large (though only 2 seater) leather sofas in the lounge, and I will NEVER work out how on earth they managed to get them through the door, I really thought they would have to use the french windows. The delivery people are normally well practiced and I for one am certain that they are fully capable of getting a quart into a pint pot! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Well, they can - but a glazier will charge you an arm and a leg for it. I was quoted to £200 to remove and replace my window to get my new sofas in, as they wouldn't fit through my door frame even with the door taken off.
In the end I ssent them back and lost 20% restocking fee as I couldn't face the hassle of removing the windows and then finding they still wouldn't fit.
I'm sure they will fit through patio doors - I have patio doors at the back of my house, but no access that way so it wasn't an option to use them even though they would have gone in with no bother.0 -
Well, it's arrived.
It fitted in the house...
BUT, its HUGE!!
Its a corner sofa which I admit I am not used to, but blimey it is so much bigger than i thought it was going to be....
I hope its ok, I have had tears and tantrums today as it seems so big and I want my old ones back but hubby loves it. It just dominates the room so much
Well, can't return it can I so I just have to learn to live with it....0 -
hi flipped, glad it has arrived & that there was no major window or door removal needed lol, we had a new sofa in August, it too dominated the room ~ just give it a week or so and you will love it too (usually after your family and mates have been to see it ~ and tell you how fab it looks!!!! I do know what you mean about tears and tantrums ~ I have them nearly every time with major changes ~ my husband ignores me ~ sounds a bit like your hubby. What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:0

Thanks Tricia, thats reassuring!
I am actually even thinking that if i don't like it in a few months that I will try and sell it and buy a cheaper one from Sofa Sofa that isn't so huge..
May actually start a different thread with that one......God I am complicated....0
