in Cutting tax
I think ive been taxed on these.
despite payrises my pay goes down grrr.
I phoned inland revenue and they have it down as 2008 and 2007 having a total of 5k taxable benefits.
They told me to contact payroll as there must have been an error with my p11d.
What will happen now?
Will i get money back? if so, any idea how much?
All help appreciated.

what does your P11D say on it?
if it is wrong then you need to get it sorted, then you can claim a refund, you can go about 6 years back if necessary.0 -
I never submitted the p11d, I didnt understand them.
So I want to know how much if any money I can get back.0 -
Its not your job to submit the P11d - your employer does this. Did they not give you a copy? they are supposed to.
What does the P11d say - does it describe the type of expenses reimbursed?
I think you need to speak to your payroll department and ask them if they have a dispensation for reimbursed expenses.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
GRRR Just spoke to Inland revenue and they are saying that my meals, travel, stationery etc are taxable.
How can this be? I pay tax on my pay, then fork out due to the company, then get charged again on the company reimbursing me.
They said my tax code has changed 2 times this year because of it.
I dont get it at all!

Neither do I. I think you should be putting in an equal expense claim against tax. But, as I said in my previous post, I would want to know why your employer does not have a dispensation from reporting these expenses - if you are merely claiing like for like. Speak to payroll. HMRC can only go on the info they are given.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
