i hate hate hate portrush. but i do like the surrounding countryside. I guess if you have kids they would find plenty to amuse themselves for a few days, but for adults i think a day trip is about as much as you need.

  • I would say probably not! Our daughter loves portrush (she's 15) but purely for the surfing, and we are dragged along to watch.. Yes the surrounding countryside is lovely, beaches and walks but the town isn't up to much, it needs a facelift like Newcastle recently got..

    Hasn't changed in Years:eek:

Still a grotty, smelly wee seaside town:o they have tried some tidy up and tart up bits (Arcadia area), but more investment badly needed. Barrys could do with a big face lift too, but they seem unwilling to spend some of the millions they make every year:confused:

Council does try by supporting NW200, mini rally and airshow etc.... but more needs to be done:o

Having said that my 2 love it for some reason:confused:

Best part of the day, the road home, and stopping at Charleys for dinner;)

EDIT: Tesco vouchers OP, can be used in the Dunluce Family centre, but I wouldn't recommend it TBH :o
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Portrush is becoming a relic of the past really, it's looking tired and frail. I still have days away there and enjoy it, but it really depends what you're looking to do as to whether its worth it for you.
  • its good for a nice seaside walk, fresh air and a good chip lol.

Not much in terms of shopping, barrys is dated and only open for few months of the year.

If u like surfing its the place to go

Not unless you go when the air show (sept) or north west 200 (may) is on.
