Feeling disheartened

I'm feeling very low at the moment . Have had a brilliant offer from Lloyds regarding my loan, they have offered me a £12000 reduction on my loan figure of about £22000 , if I pay them £9925 they will cancel my debt! Only problem is I don't have any money! This is goi ng to be a really difficult year for me anyway as I will probably have to try and sell my house. I am coming up to pension age in May, and I want to retire! I want to be able to enjoy my life while I still can. Why does everything have to be so bloomin' hard?

Maybe an appointment with one of their Personal Bankers or whatever they call them might help. You could discuss planning for retirement and the inevitable drop in monthly income, having first got some idea from your place of work what your pension will be (if you are in a company scheme that is). Otherwise you will be dependant on Mr Darling's charitable donation of 90-odd quid a week (or whatever the State Pension is nowadays). You could flog your house at a reduced rate, take up Lloyds generous offer and with what's left (if any) rent somewhere (maybe abroad in the sunshine?) and live out a frugal but comfortable life of retirement with a cat or two for company. There are plenty more things in this world to be disheartened about so cheer up and good luck.

I am about 15 years off retirement myself and I wish to stake my claim now to the DOB title - I should have also said about looking at your incomings and outgoings, makes sense doesn't it?
