Tax and hours worked

your pension and you pay are worked out separately by your pension provider and your employer respectively.
However, they are linked via your tax codes
so for your pension you have your full tax allowance of 6035
no NI on pensions so only tax worked out so:
pension = 21319
less tax allowance of 6035 (ie. tax code 603L)
so you pay at 20% of 15,284 ie. tax of £3,057
so take home is 18,262 pa or 1522 per month
your employment has NI at 11% on monthly amounts over £453
and tax at 20% on the full amount (i.e. tax code BR)
so monthly pay of 1685
tax 20% of 1685 = £337
NI 11% of monthly ove 453 i.e. 11% of (1685-453) = 135
so take home monthly is 12120 -
