Can a complaint be made?

We have a property that is being managed by an estate agent and rented out, the problem is that they (the Estate agents) have been telling us that the properties in very good order but the reality that we've found out now is that it is completely run down to the point where its value has dropped by thousands of pounds.

As we are selling up and cant gain access is there any complaints procedures we can go through regarding lettings? I know there are plenty for sales but cant find anything for the rental side of estate agency.

Is there a contract between you and the letting agents? If so what does it say?

You have said that you have found out that the property is not as described by the agent, how have you found this out? If you can give a bit more info then maybe there is something we can suggest but I am guessing this is one of the risks you take when letting.

I am guessing that the comeback will be limited but you may want to question the level of management your agent has provided.
