My son has just bought a house which had been reposessed. Are any bad debts/payments linked to this address likely to affect his credit rating and if so, who does he contact to disaccociate himself from them?

No, this shouldn't affect him at all since your credit rating is personal, not linked to where you live. Should any problem arise (which I doubt) any of the credit reference agencies can tell him what he needs to do to disassociate himself. His bank can tell him how to get in touch with them. Thanks to all who post comps :A :T0
