Where is best / cheapest place to park for Birmingham NEC and City centre?

We are going to the NEC soon and also want to visit the city centre, I was thinking of parking at the Birmingham International train station car park (£6 all day) am I right in thinking this is a short walk away from the NEC? Is there anywhere cheaper??

For the NEC, it depends if you are visiting a particular show. For some of them, the charge can be up to £8 a day (eg Crufts in a couple of weeks time), for others they are free (e.g. the National Boat Caravan & Outdoor Show on today).

Birmingham International train station is literally attached to the NEC, short walk indoors to get to main halls.

....Very sensible.£6.00 all day is quite reasonable as parking at the NEC can be expensive ,and you are very handily placed for the NEC and the city centre.Trains are very frequent.
