Debt Management Question

Hi hope someone can help me with a quick question. I have just severed all ties with the debt management company i have been with for over a year .... long story but after checking figures etc discovered i was actually worse off than when i had started plan and after coming on this site realised that they were ripping me off by taking a monthly fee. since then i have contacted all my creditors directly and have an agreed payment plan with them all (something the Debt Management company also failed to do!!) Anyway the question is i have written a quite strongly worded letter to said company but in this letter I have requested that they forward me a copy of my file with them. i have ended the letter saying that if i do not receive it within 14 days i will take it further so... could someone tell me am entitled to the file (i'm sure I am DPA and all that!!)? and where do I take it further to if they do not send it to me???
Thanks for any advise I may receive.

Hi
I haven't had any personal experience with debt management companies myself but I have heard alot of stories where they were charging a monthly fee, but not actually contacting any creditors. You have a right to have a copy of all the files that they hold on you, but i'm not sure of the time limit on it. I always thought it was within 20 working days but I may be wrong.
Hopefully someone should be along soon to advise.I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.
