when did you first have difficulty paying your debts?
I have always let my partner run my finances and did not become aware of this untill january this year.
What do you think are the reasons for you not having enough money to pay your debts?
When I first got together with my partner she was unable to get debit cards etc. So when needed she would borrow my crads, throughout th years the trust grew and because she did all the shopping etc, i gave her custody of my cars (this arrangement worked for the past 6 years).
Up untill recently everything has always been paid. In Jan09 I noticed a red leeter and asked my partner about this, I was told that this was fine as she was due to be paid soon. Then another appeared. She then left me for another man on Feb this year and i'm now left with the debt of two people all soley in my name. I lost my job (sacked) due to the depression of my partner not wanting to be with me. She took the car and I took the dog. I am now longer able to keep the payments up as I am claiming benefits

Nationwide won't give you an account. Apply to the Co-op for a Cashminder account. They are the most BR friendly bank and you can open it before BR. Just tell the OR when you talk to him this is the account you opened for your BR.
I will leave others to comment on your statement.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

I opened my coop cashminder account on the day i went BR so i didnt need to put it on my SOA and so didn't need to worry it would be put on hold or closed by OR. They were very good, they asked why i only wanted the basic cashminder and i told them i had just been declared BR and they siad thats ok we open loads of accounts for BR's, i've been with them just over a year and had no problems at all, my OH has one and we have a joint with them too. OH actually had a normal current with them that she opened when she was looking at an IVA but they were happy to just down grade it to cashminder when she told them she was going BR and they didnt put it on hold or anything. I might enquire if i can upgrade to normal current now i have been discharged.Life is like a game of Snakes & Ladders, i almost made it to the top but now i'm at the bottom again and its a very long ladder to the top. I had it all and now its gone
Well my 6 years are now up, now to start to rebuild my life again

As to your statement, its really a personal thing that people cannot really give you much advice on as everyone's situation is different, there are no set standard answers, you can only be honest, looks ok to me.Life is like a game of Snakes & Ladders, i almost made it to the top but now i'm at the bottom again and its a very long ladder to the top. I hope you don't mind but I corrected a couple to typos and added some comments. Who bought the car and who was the registered keeper? The OR could go after her for the car if it was your asset (as its worth more in financial terms than the dog however I'm sure the dog is far more valuable than a car!)
