Teknica DVD player.

Tescos are doing these for £19.97. Did not note the model number I'm afraid.

Its small, no display and has a captive mains lead.

Anyone tried one?

BTW it might be a permanent price.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

  • bought one of these a while back before christmas, seems good value considering it has progressive component video although the remote can be tempremental at times.

  • No problems with mine... certainly can't argue at that price! If you want to make it multi region then do this...

    Turn machine on
    Open Tray
    press 9 7 3 6
TV screen should come up Region 2
    Type 0
    Message now says region 0
Wait for message to go from screen

    Works a treat!

    Hi

Bought one of these from Tesco today - works nicely with DVD+Rs and JPEG disks. One problem: I used to use a PS2 to play DVDs and it always stretched the picture to fill the enitre screen (my telly is not widescreen). This Technika 103 won't, even though I have set it to "Pan Scan" in the Preferences menu (the instructions said this should fill the sreen).

Is there any way of getting it to fill the screen, or is this a case of a modern dvd player assuming most tellys are widescreen nowadays?

    Yes, these are very decent.

As Hasnath says, remote can be temperamental, and can eat up batteries fast.
