Another Pinecone Research thread

Hiya im new to this forum, well im more of a stalker really
I'm sure there's been many threads on Pinecone Research so I'm sorry if you guys have to repeat the same thing again and again.

But basically i signed up using someone's referral link , and i didn't get no email or anything from them after to confirm it [even though i read here that other people had a questionnaire to fill in] so basically i emailed the person Scott whoever that is from the site and i got an email back saying this:

Thank you for your interest in PineCone Research! We made the decision to not accept recruits through general referrals nor will we be posting recruitment on our website.

We will be posting banner ads on various unspecified web sites from time to time throughout the year. This is so we may better target more specific groups needed to meet the needs of our clients. At this time, this is our only way of accepting new panelists.

Obviously i've taken the hint that they're not looking for anymore recruitments through referrals. But shouldn't they invalidate all referral links so as to not confuse people?

Anyway, at the moment i'm trying to find the banner ad [don't worry i will not ask anyone to help me ]. All i wanted to know was what sorta sites do they post their ads on? Like any particular examples would be very helpful.
