Get Well Soon/Mother's Day Hamper ideas please...

My Mum is going to have an op on her knee a couple of days after mother's day and so i thought for mother's day i'd do her a hamper with stuff for her to use after she comes home as she will have to do a lot of sitting around. She is normally cycling/skiing/climbing/paragliding/partying... (she is the coolest grandma - all my kids friends are jealous!!) and so this will be tough on her!

I was thinking of putting in a couple of dvds, a couple of books, some bio-oil for the scar, homemade truffles, magazines, tv guide but would love some other ideas - i am on a bit of a budget so the more money saving the better! I was thinking of including some vitamins or hebal things that might help her make a speedy recovery but i don't really know what that would be - any help welcome!

Thank you!!

How about pampering stuff - manicure set, nice hand cream, candles, stuff for the shower/bath...

Do you live near by? Could you add a booklet of vouchers that your mum could redeem from you when she wants to such as: a manicure, tea and cakes, cook the dinner etc

As your mum will need to relax for a while how about making her a journal jar, some ideas here... http://organizedchristmas.com/adult-journal-jar I mention these all the time on this board but just because I think they are a great present but I realise not everyone would appreciate such a gift.

Hope everything goes smoothly and your mum is back on her feet very soon afterwards.

  • By the sounds of it she's quite active so she might not appreciate this but what about some puzzle books or interactive/hand held games to keep her distracted. They are quite useful when bored or when needed as a distraction.

    Hope she gets well soon
