How have you been bleaching your teeth?
Was it with stuff you got from the dentist?
Teeth don't necessarily need root treating before crowning, but you will (or should) have them x-rayed before they are crowned to make sure they don't need root filling.
If you're going to get them whitened, then BEFORE the crowns are done would be the time to do it, so that the crowns match. (Crowns won't change colour).
However - you need a stable and reliable way of whitening your teeth - as you don't want to whiten them, have new crowns made to the new colour, and then have the teeth darken again.
Get the whitening done through the dentist. Maybe not the cheapest way to get it done, but probably the safest way of insuring everything will match in the end.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

Your dentist will/should have taken a shade so that they can show you the difference. As your seeing it everyday it might be not be noticable to you as it is a gradual effect, but others will notice.
Of course this next statement depends on the bleaching system your using- one syringe over 3 weeks seems a bit stingy. Ask your dentist for instructions on how to use the gel effectively.:money: Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to everyone who has helped.0 -
Thanks i was initially told i was using too much. Can i use both trays at once. They are called Nitewhite0

Consult your dentist for the best advice, after all its what your paying for. Sounds like you need a bit more of an explanaion on how to use it.:money: Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to everyone who has helped.0

could you please advise on this point.I have an appt with my dentisit on Thu to have my crown fitted.I have decided that i will cancel this and bleach my teeth to a shade i am happy with and then go back and get my crowns replaced
Is this a good idea, also can i use both trays at once0 -
The crowns will already have been made in the original shade, so i assume your wearing temporary crowns?
If this is the case, you will still get charged for the crowns. normally for this reason i insist that the bleaching is always done first before any crowns to get the correct shade, as the cosmetic result it better IMO.
It is perfectly possible to bleach top and bottom at the same time- without resulting in any major problems- but then again, this is something you should be talking to you dentist about, not someone on an internet forum claiming to be a dentist.
Ring your dentist. Ask to speak to them directly and see what they say.:money: Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to everyone who has helped.0
