So if you didn't pay for your ex's mobile your kids wouldn't call you? Don't they have a landline, why can't she pay this?
Funny thing to have on a separation agreement or is that just me lol

There isn't much you can reduce from what I see unfortunatly

Can you pay life insurance for someone else?
  • No they would call, but she does not have a land line, so if I pay for the mobile its not an excuse. Its along with the maintenance.

The life insurance is a joint policy, I need to check how valid it is now we have separated.
  • How much is your car worth? Can you sell it? Buy a cheaper run round car?

I would pay 8k off a solid debt. But try get expert advice.

Hope things work out for you and your kids.

oh I know just a funny little thing that' s all lol why don't you remove if from 'mobile' and add to 'maintenance'. Can you reduce the tariff?
  • Mine is as low as it can go really, she uses hers loads so its better to keep it high, than risk any hassle. or a larger bill as it went over tarriff...
  • My car is a S reg micra ! Did have a big mondeo but sold it and got this.

Is your Council Tax over 10 months or 12 months? Some council's will let you pay over 12 months.

  • Council Tax - as the only adult in the house are you claiming the single occupier discount from the council?
    .

I agree Nargleblast, this does seem high... if you are claiming 25% discount have you checked you're in the right banding? think Martin has a land registry(?) link somewhere!
