I have seen ones at my local health food store, but it was a) a while ago and b) I can't remember who made them.

I'll have a look and see the next time I am close by - maybe tomorrow.

Tesco used to do leek and cheese sausages in the chiller cabinet with the other veggie meals. Ours in quite a little Tesco, but they seem to come and go according to the seasons, and how much space Tesco have at the time. Have also tried the mushroom burgers - dh really likes these, and they're often reduced!

Don't think that either were actually made by Tesco, but may be worth a look on Tesco/Sainsbury etc websites.

Edit: think it may have been Cauldron Foods

  • Waitrose do some lovely mushroom ones - definiately worth a try. I don't eat meat and hate 'meaty' tasting sausages but these are lovely.

Otherwise try the Cauldron Foods sausages as mummysaver suggested. They've gone quite exotic - not only do they do the standard lincolnshire and cumberland ones but cherry tomato and basil, black olive and sundried tomato and morrocan. Haven't tried the morrocan ones yet but the others are all tasty, here the link to their site...

  • I used to make a version of the Birds Eye veggie fingers when the kids were toddlers with mashed potato, peas, carrots etc and a very thick cheese sauce. Mix it up, let it go cold and the form into burgers or sausages. You can egg and breadcrumb them and they freeze well uncooked. You can either shallow fry or oven bake them (or prob grill).

I'd actually forgotten about these - could well be resurrected in this house.

  • I used to work in a health shop and although i'm not vegetarian tried these sausages from Wicken Fen and they were wonderful, the spinach, leek and cheese and tomato and basil were my favourites.

I know you've already had loads of suggestions but I just thought I'd add that Sainsburys Leek & Cheese sausages are the nicest I've tasted. In fact they're the only ones I've ever found that I DO like.
