Nice idea skintchick but I'd be worried about the strength of the repair - given that it was my abuse of the bag (putting heavy papers in it) which bust the stitching in the first place

Whoo-hoo!!
Just got back from my lunch break having found a nice man in the "Cobbler's Nest" on Borough High Street, London SE1 who thinks he can do it. I explained the construction of the bag and what needs doing, so I'll be taking it in tomorrow and hoping he can hand stitch it.
Now I just need to know how much it's going to cost(I'd like him to do the repair and check/fix the other three strap fastenings while he's at it)
