It appears the Doom proclamations from our board have rattled those at the top.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The global economy may be deteriorating even faster than it did during the Great Depression, Paul Volcker, a top adviser to President Barack Obama, said on Friday.
"I don't remember any time, maybe even in the Great Depression, when things went down quite so fast, quite so uniformly around the world," Volcker said.
(Reporting by Pedro da Costa and Kristina Cooke; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
It was lost in translation.
He actually said
"The last time anything went down quicker than this led to the impeachment of bill clinton"0 -

If he remembers the great depression he must be ninety, far too old to be advising anybody.

yes, a downturn that has crashed the economies of all developed countries, has stopped China in its tracks, has bankrupted a couple of countries with more wobbling on the edge, and has literally trillions of whatever currency you prefer either owed by banks or being borrowed by governments to rescue banks.
Feels like a depression to me.0 -

But... he's one of Obama's men... surely he can muster up some good slogans and magic the problem away with an effortless "yes we can!" whilst a crowd of onlookers unquestioningly bow down and worship their new messiah.
After all, it's not as if Obama's reputation for economic competence was mysteriously based on absolutely zero experience, is it?0 -
