madness i know

i have called vanquis and finally paid them off. Ok it was only my smallest credit card £250 but its done. One i get the statement next month i can cancel it completely.

I got the money by ebaying things and selling books on amazon. Im realy trying to get out of what is a desperate situation and i thought vanquis was my highest APR and smallest amount so it worked out well.

The reason i write madness on the name of the thread is that i got made redundant 2 weeks ago, so really i suppose i should have saved the money just incase but i really wanted to cancel off a debt.

Just wanted to share the news with someone. :o

Ive been very down lately and this board keeps me going
CC1 - £250 (PAID) :j :D
CC2 - £2400
CC3 - £3200
I hate redundancy..it sucks.

  • Well done for paying off your Vanquis debt - I believe they charge really high interest rates - so in the long run you have saved yourself more than the £250 it has cost you to pay off.

It might help to post your SOA using the template on www.makesenseofcards.com (remembering to hit the MSE button to format it for easy reading) and then all the wonderful people on this site can see how to save you more money and pay off your debts quicker.

Well done, you are in the right place, although sorry to hear about the redundancy.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Don't sweat it hun, if it makes you feel positive then don't worry about it and be happy.

I am really sorry to hear about your redundancy and well done for getting shot of some debt, in the long run it will save you money because you won't be paying the interest AND it has reduced your monthly financial committment.

How are you doing with job hunting???
