Anybody wanting to put some of the ideas from the program into practice should search for their local Transition Town to find out what's going on in their area - we can only make a real difference if we start working together.
A lot of people (mostly men from what I've seen) know of the problem of climate change but don't do anything, as they think - what's the point, one person won't make a difference.
Transition towns give a focus for community projects and once a few things happen, others see the difference they make and are more inclined to join in.
People will continue to ignore the problem unless they see that there is some hope that something they do can actually makes a difference.

The thing that scares me most is that in the transition handbook, it says the worst situation is trying to fight climate change while in a recession as it will require a lot of investment. Although a lot of people are starting to grow their own this year which can only be a good thing.
