Jeans for my daughter

Hi my daughter is a size 8 and after a hard battle with her eating disorder has put on weight and the only jeans that we could find to fit her were from top shop and were a size 8 28 w 30L. The one thing I noticed was that in all of Top Shop's ladies sizes you got varying ranges e.g size 8 had a 24, 26 and 28 waist with varying leg lengths. As a man who obvioulsy just has to buy his jeans by waist and length, can any one tell me is there anywhere where i can buy ladies Jeans for my daughter that go by waist size and leg length and are a bit more reasonable than Top Shop prices. Because all this one size (8,10,12,14 etc) is so frustrating as as 2 ladies could both have size 26 waist and be either 5ft tall or 6ft tall.
Many thanks for any help

Cant help you much except to say that I bought my daughter some skinny fit jeans in Tescos yesterday, togehter with a long sleeved top for £5. THe jeans go up to age 13-14 I think.
Because they are skinny fit, leg length doesnt really matter too much as they just wrinkle more or less around the ankles (if you see what I mean). And I gather they are very fashionable at the moment!
The other place to try is Marks and Spencer. THeir trousers come in short regular or long length and sizes are ususally pretty reliable. Again, some of their ranges, particularly Per Una and Limited Collection may appeal to your daughter. May be a bit more expensive, but M&S seem to have lots of sales these days and there are often size 8s left.
And finally I have to say what a lovely Dad you must be to her to be asking this on her behalf. Good luck to you both in your quest for some well fitting trousers and future health.

Maybe try Ebay.
You could enter "Jeans 8, 30L" in the search.
Or alternatively, for more choices click on Jeans (within Ladies Clothing) and just use the search options/dropdown bars where you can choose anything from the Brand of jeans to the Length.

Have you tried Next? Sizes from 6, and their lengths in some of their jeans go up to 35" in the "tall" range.0

Try Dorothy perkins and H&M too... they usually have a range of jeans for around £15-£25.. I'm an usual size and find that these shops usually have a lot of sizes that fit0

I take it if you are buying for your daughter she is around 16 from personal experience the jeans out of Next, marks and spencers are not very fashionable for her age group and also they are mostly quite high waisted. I buy my jeans out of Miss selfridge i am a size 10 and i'm 5ft 2 and they do leg lengths petite which is under 5ft 2 regular which is think is under 5ft 6/7 and long length. The jeans are about £25 - £40 depending on sale. They are an excellent fit and they don't stretch in the wash and get baggy. which New look jeans do and dorothy perkins. I have never tried H&M but my friend buys them when she can't afford Diesel ones and i know she wouldn't use them if they weren't any good.0

Topshop sizing must be skewy then, as usually a size 8 is a 25" waist
however, where jeans are concerned, depending on style, and shop, sizes vary so much, you cant just say that a Size 8 will fit.
If buying hipster jeans, you normally have to go done a dress size, so they fit tight, the same again with skinny jeans
If looking for cheap jeans though, New Look tends to have a really good, reasonably priced selection. And most women size 8 and under can also fit in their childrens section (unless you are really tall and need extra long leg length)
