What I am saying is don't burden yourself with guilt that your mother may lose her home. If it happens then she has brought it on herself.

    Good luck.

I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous thing to say. The OH's Mum was just trying to help, she is not a mortgage/house prices expert. The OP cares about and loves her Mum so the above is a totally unhlepful thing to say, can't believe you were foolish enough to type it.

OP, please please get these suicidal thoughts out of your head, you have your family, and howerver hard it looks at the moment that is all that matters.

    Best of luck

I have to agree totally, my Mum was only trying to help us and by no means was in it for herself our to see the house as a cash cow. I love my Mum dearly and it is me who takes full responsibility for the situation - and I will do anything to protect her.

    Thank you xxx

    Morning everyone,

Ok so spoken to CCCS and the story is

    1) They cannot force my Mum to sell any of her assets of enforce bailiffs
    2) They cannot force my Mum to sell her home OR repossess it
    3) They cannot place a charge order on the house if we are making some kind of repayment back to them every month...

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!
My Mum's home and assets have been the main worry, as long as the don't touch her then I'm happy!!

REALLY glad you came back to post sadnewmum!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Yes of course I will boredofbeingathome, you have all been great - even just to get things off my chest.
I will keep posting all my progress xxx

 CAN i just add that the banks are now trying to sell these houses for what they will sell for...market priced to sell...so thats what they will get
It does not matter what you think the house was worth because the market tells the bank what its worth and they are mostly right...i wish you well and i have been where you are at as i was wiped out in the last crash and the exact same thing happened to me i ended up with a 70k shortfall which they chased me for years and years until i paid them.....
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

There is normally a Daily/Weekend Chat thread started in the morning. It normally consists of mainly women talking about lady things, cats, dates and there is the odd perv that pop in with innuendios to try and make people laugh :D Its a good way to pass some of your time and as ever it is a great place to ask any questions you may have as there is a wealth of experience on there coming from all walks of life; but not just that thread all of the site too.
