Colour in my jeans running

Options
Didn't really know the appropriate place to post this.

I bought some cheap black jeans from New Look, maybe October time last year, I wore them say twice a week for 6 weeks, and the colour was still running in the wash, and I constantly had black legs. I put them away hoping to find the reciept to take them back but no look. They've started to fade really bad, and look white underneath in some parts. Is there anything I can do to stop the colour rubbing off so I can at least get a little bit of wear out of them?

Serves me right for buying cheap jeans

first buy a dylon black in the washer dye.when they are done put plenty of salt( i use nearly a full drum)on them in the washer drum and put them on a rinse cycle stop the washer once the water has covered the jeans and leave over night if possible then put them on a normal wash and you should not have anymore probs, this works for me (salt makes them colour fast you should do this with every black or dark blue jeans when new) hope this helps( ps dont buy a dye when there new just soak them in salt then wash as usual!)
  • same problem! with dark-blue jeans here, wash them hot as you can (i put mine on a 60) with washing powder and 500g of salt and that solved the problem. when ive dyed things before you've always got to add the salt for the dye to hold, hope this helps:D

Those colour catcher sheets seem to be useful too. I use them when I'm washing new dark or red coloured clothes
