Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!

  • Yes, I've got one of these - treated myself from Ideal World, but the prices seem to be much of a muchness wherever you go!

So far, I've been really pleased with it - it got caught up in a pair of i-Pod headphones that had fallen off the table the other day, but it made such a cute plaintive 'I'm trapped' kind of noise that I didn't mind having to sort it out!

As you'll probably read from the reviews, it doesn't actually hold as much as a normal hoover would but if you're using it every couple of days or so there shouldn't be that much dust for it to pick up

At the moment, I can't fault it - but I'm mindful I've only had it a month or so. I'm thinking of investing in one for my mum, but I'm going to wait for a bit longer just to make sure...

I think these hoovers are just a gimmick.

I doubt they will perform as good as a regular hoover, and they will probably require the same amount of time and effort as just getting a normal hoover out and running it around the room.

Also the robot hoovers will only be good for flat surfaces, no good for vaccing stairs, sofas, in your car, etc.

I seen them in costco, it was the dearer 530 make but they had it at £160 compared to the normal £200 odd.
If you get one could you let me know how you get on with it.I have cats so am interested if its any good with pet hairs.

we have a roomba irobot 560 since last spring. I love it. Husband bought it from Lakeland for £200. They gave us a new one because I went in there and said all the little arms had broken off the whisk. (state of my floors possibly) Customer service is flawless there.
I have a cat and long hair - the brushes get hairy and I de hair after each room. It's quite fiddly to do, and if you had very arthritic hands I wouldn't recommend it. But for me with a bad back it's magic, I don't mind standing and dehairing the thing instead of pushing a vac around :) Roomba doesn't do stairs or little spaces inbetween furniture, so you'd still need a vac. But it's marvelous at keeping the place looking ok, I set it off in a room and shut the door and it just does it. It's easy to use it every day in some room - it goes up and down the hallway keeping it fresh looking. At the moment we have no fitted carpets - just a horrible collection of scatter rugs, floorboards, concrete and laminate and it copes with all of them. One or two places it wanted to get jammed in like underneath a bookcase - I put some books there and that stops it.
My elderly parents have one too and they love it.

my sister has laminate florrs downstairs and carpets upstairs and loves it, her Dyson has been relegated to the cupboard, it vacuums while she is at work and even puts itself back on charge.
