I can recommend Devonport House in Greenwich. Stayed there for a tenner, it was lovely.

I'm doing something wrong because despite saying there's availability, it's just offering regular type prices regardless of where I'm booking and when

I think they are just trying to get rid of the last few £19 rooms . You're right, alot of them seem to be sold out at that price when you click on them and the more expensive ones are the only ones offered. There are some £19 ones to be had though, if you can be flexible about dates and location.

  • These £19 rooms actually went on sale on 30th January, so lots of the availability has already gone. There is another thread here with reviews of different Deveres venues.

I got the Mill & Swan nr Oxford for 19 which I'm happy with :) A night away for me and the boy.

I wanted to book Greenwich again but couldn't find any discounted rooms at all through the whole of the easter holiday, despite showing availability. Thanks for posting it up again though!

hi all, just wanted to say me & DH stayed at warbrook house and grange in eversley last night and i can thoroughly reccommend it! the staff went above and beyond to help us... it was dh bday and when i went to get a knife from the dining room to cut his cake, the duty receptionist collared me and asked if everything was ok i explained i just needed a knife to cut dh's bday cake and she said 'ill get that for you and bring it up to the room' when she arrived about 5 mins later she had bought the knife, 2 plates, and 2 complimentary glasses of champagne! bless her! later on that evening i realised id left my hairbrush at home, DH rang reception and asked if they had any throw away combs, the receptionist said 'no im sorry we dont, but i can call the duty manager and see if someone can pop to tesco for you' !! very sweet! the room, although compact and bijou, was lovely and immaculatly clean. The coffee station in the lounge was wonderful and FREE! and the grounds were beautiful! all in all an absolute barry bargain... although i will say this...dont eat at the harvester in fleet, was heaving, insanely hot and the food was awful!
We can't all be heroes... someone has to stand on the sidelines and clap as they go by...
