DMP and Credit Rating??

Hi everyone
Not quite sure where to go right now. Had far too many sleepless nights worrying over the £36k unsecured dept we have!
I have been looking into a free DMP but my husband is very concerned that this would affect our credit rating to such an extent that if/when we need to find somewhere new to live (our tenency aggreement ends in Aug) that we would be unable to find another house and with 4 children that is a real worry!
We have never defaulted payment on anything, all our debts/bills are up to date. My husband did go down the consolidation loan route, which TBH I was not too keen upon, but was declined. This has given our credit rating a bit of a battering as it is.
So does anyone know if getting a DMP would affect us getting a satisfactory credit report if we have to find a new house to rent in Aug?
Many thanks

Why dont you give Payplan or CCCS a ring and ask them about this. I have freinds who were BR and still managed to renew rent/get another place. After all letting agencies get all sorts and am sure if you are on a DMP although rating does get battered-it should be ok.

Hi,
My DH was on a DMP with CCCS when we rented out property. (lots of defaults etc). We told the letting agents our credit rating would be poor, but we passed the credit check !! They told us for letting purposes all that is checked is whether we have any CCJ's or are bankrupt. (Very basic credit check). So fingers crossed you shouldn't have a problem.0
