5 year old debt- what happens if CCJ i issued?

hi- i wondered if anybody could help me on this, please. I have a debt which is approx 5 years old now- I haven't heard anything in over 2 years from them and I have not paid anything towards it since it defaulted in 2003 approx. The amount has grown to about £3000 now and I moved addresses and the letter went to my old address...there is currently no CCJ on this debt.
I would like to try this to reach the 6 years period so I am no longer legally obliged to pay it. It is being dealt with my a company who i researched as being specialists in buying debts up that are non enforcable or statute barred or nearly ...
However what happens if they issue a county court judgement within this time? Will I be enforced to pay it, even after the 6 years is up? If the CCJ is sent to my old address even though I havent lived there for over 5 years, will it still be enforcable? OR even if a CCJ is obtained, will it still become non enforcable on the same date as if no CCJ is obtained?
I received one letter which i have currently 'ignored' as I am reluctant to 'return to sender' as they may then start trying to find me and locate me at my actual address!
ANybody know about what happens i f i get a CCJ on this? I have had about 3 CCJs over the last 6 years but the others i just sorted out payment arrangements in the end etc but this amount is far too large for me to manage and i have been told that this company do not bargain or allow arrangements but they nastily demand payments in full!thanks for any help

If they issue a court action within the 6 years, and you lose, you will have to pay the debt.

They can issue proceedings any time up to the six year period and then if they obtain a CCJ they can enforce that for at least another 5 years
