I don't think they are worth the money then, for the type 1 as you showed. I did see one for £190 but it was just as you described, 2 inches of memory foam stuck on top of another type of foam. I think the 7 cm deep 80kg/m3 topper that I ordered is definitely a better buy at £120 as my own original mattress is still in good condition.
Do you work in a bed shop? Just wondering as you seem to be very knowledgeable! :p

My only advice is try before you buy. I spent ages trying the beds in a bed shop (with my husband) and I personally didn't like memory foam beds (Tempur). They don't suit everyone.

  • I love the Tempur beds. In Fishpools (waltham cross) they have a display chamber that is darkened for you to try out the tempur mattresses. But I don't like the memory foam pillows.

I also really like the down or feather mattress toppers. I find them more comfortable than the cheap memory foam.

Tesco's have the gillette razors half price at the moment. At least they did on Monday when I did my shopping. HTH.

The problem is that there is no way you can tell if a mattress will be suitable after just 10 mins in a showroom. The only way to find out is by sleeping on one for a few nights.

Don't judge all memory foam mattresses by Tempur (they came out bottom in the Which Magazine report).
  • My husband and I have just purchased a nes matress from Argos. My husband has mild Spina Bifida, so needs a comfortable mattress. We have at the moment got a posture prung mattress and a memory foam topper. The only problem is that the topper moves and needs to be put back. We got our new mattress in Argos, as some of their mattresses are 1/2 price.

It actually took us about 2 hours in the bed shop to choose the final one... best purchase we ever made. But I think the sales assistants were fed up of us in the end!

I didn't mean 10 mins in the shop, I was talking about 10 mins on each bed.
